Job Summary: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides nursing care as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN) within the nursing unit. This includes data collection, implementing orders, and performing therapeutic procedures appropriate for the patient's age and condition, adhering to established policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.Location:Newark, New York, United StatesResponsibilities:- Gather and report patient data.- Implement physician orders and nursing care plans.- Perform therapeutic procedures on patients.- Monitor and record vital signs.- Assist with patient hygiene and comfort.- Document patient care and related duties.- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.- Coordinate equipment and supply needs.Required Skills & Certifications:- Current LPN/LVN licensure in the state of practice.- BLS certification.- Skills in Locked Unit, Skilled Nursing Facility/ Nursing Home, Behavior management techniques, Managing Assaultive Behavior, Blood Glucose Monitoring/Testing, De-Escalation Protocols, Intake and Output monitoring, Isolation Precautions, Labeling of specimens, Vital Sign monitoring.- Minimum 2 years of experience required.Preferred Skills & Certifications:- Experience in emergency or critical care environments.- Experience with vents/trachs/PICC lines.- Two years of experience in direct patient care.Special Considerations:- Must be greater than 75 miles from the facility.- Float is required per facility needs.- Weekend coverage is every other weekend.Scheduling:
