Business Process Intern

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting business process improvement and operational initiatives within the Airports, Borders and Security (ABS) Business Area at Leidos, a Fortune 500 company. You will contribute to efforts focused on analyzing, optimizing, and modernizing business processes, including the application of AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.The ABS team is seeking an intern interested in pursuing a career in business operations, process improvement, strategy, or analytics. This role provides exposure to internal operations and transformation efforts, with opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and support initiatives that enhance organizational performance.This position requires strong adaptability, organization, and analytical thinking skills, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, helping define problems, exploring solutions, and supporting multiple initiatives.You will work at our Global Headquarters in Reston, Virginia, with opportunities to engage in internal training and professional development. The intern reports to the Business Operations Manager and supports broader ABS operational and strategic initiatives.Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport analysis and documentation of current business processes and workflowsAssist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficienciesContribute to the development and implementation of AI and automation solutionsHelp build and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI) to support decision-makingPrepare briefings, summaries, and documentationProvide general business operations supportBasic QualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, data analytics, or related fieldIn good academic standing (GPA 3.0 or higher)Interest in business operations, process improvement, or analyticsStrong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasksProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel and PowerPoint)Self-starter able to work independently and in teamsStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or TableauExperience or interest in AI, automation, or low-code/no-code toolsAbility to learn new software applications quicklyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
