Java Developer (W2 Contract)This is a 1-year W2 contract position, with the potential for extension for an additional year.Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and proactive Java Developer to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires strong technical expertise in Java development and proven experience leading and guiding offshore development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, JavaScript, and Java Servlet technologies, experience with SOAP/REST web services, and a solid understanding of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architectural pattern.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features and enhancements.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following established best practices and coding standards.Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure code quality and consistency.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to offshore development teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery of tasks.Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.Implement and enhance front-end user interfaces using JavaScript and the ExtJS framework.Develop and consume SOAP/REST web services to integrate various systems and components.Manage and optimize database interactions with Oracle 19c.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to ensure optimal performance and security.Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions.Utilize Eclipse IDE for development and deploy applications on Tomcat servers.Required Skills and ExperienceTechnical Skill SetExtensive experience with Java Servlets and JSP for server-side and UI development.Proficiency in front-end development using JavaScript and the ExtJS framework.Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services.Experience with version control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, SVN, or Perforce.Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c, including:Writing SQL queriesDeveloping Stored ProceduresExperience deploying and configuring applications on Tomcat servers.Experience using Jenkins for build and release management.Proficiency with Eclipse IDE and managing separate workspaces.Strong understanding and practical application of the MVC architectural pattern.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Experience leading or coordinating offshore development teams.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is a plus.Employment Type: W2 ContractDuration: 1 Year (with potential for 1-year extension) Technology Stack: Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, ExtJS, SOAP/REST, Oracle 19c, Tomcat, Jenkins, Eclipse, MVC, Git/Bitbucket/SVN/Perforce.
