Assistant Director of Corporate Relations
Summary of Position:
The Assistant Director of Corporate Relations plays a critical leadership role in advancing the mission and long-term sustainability of the VFW National Home by securing philanthropic support from corporate partners and institutional funders. This position is primarily responsible for the development, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and strategic alliances that generate significant revenue and elevate mission awareness. Grant development is a secondary but essential responsibility, supporting overall fundraising goals through targeted grant research, proposal development, compliance, and reporting. The successful candidate will bring a proven record of success in securing corporate partnerships and grant funding, including major and multi-year commitments, and will be skilled at engaging senior-level corporate leaders in meaningful, mission-aligned philanthropy.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business-related field such as marketing, communications, or a related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5 or more years of military or civilian experience in a similar position will be considered.
Minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in corporate partnerships, corporate fundraising, sponsorships, development, or related fields.
Demonstrated history of success securing corporate partnerships, including major gifts and sponsorships at the five- and six-figure level.
Proven experience in grant fundraising, including research, proposal writing, award management, and reporting.
Strong executive presence with exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to build and sustain relationships with senior corporate leaders and philanthropic decision-makers.
Experience with CRM and fundraising systems; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
Strong commitment to the mission of the VFW National Home and the families it serves.
