The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and industrial equipment, including DC power systems. Performs inspections, diagnoses issues, and completes installation and restoration work while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project requirements. Works independently to support customer needs, supervise internal and subcontractor teams, maintain equipment and inventory, and mentor apprentices. Serves as the company qualifier for electrical contractor licenses across multiple states. This role will report to the Service Manager.As The Journeyman Electrician, You WillInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and infrastructure in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.Perform system inspections and technical assessments to diagnose electrical issues and implement effective corrective solutions.Install and service industrial equipment, including DC power systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and work orders to complete installations and repairs accurately and efficiently.Communicate directly with customers to assess needs, provide technical recommendations, and ensure high levels of service satisfaction.Work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities, schedules, and project requirements.Select, install, and maintain electrical components such as wiring, receptacles, panelboards, switchgear, and switchboards.Supervise and coordinate internal teams and subcontractors performing installation or maintenance activities.Maintain required tools, equipment, and standard replacement parts to support efficient field operations.Monitor material usage and inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for ongoing work.Accurately document labor hours, materials, and project activities for reporting and cost tracking purposes.Ensure compliance with all company policies as well as federal, state, and local safety regulations.Mentor and support apprentices and junior team members, promoting continuous learning and skill development.Serve as the company’s qualifying representative for electrical contractor licenses across multiple states.Travels 60%, as required.Basic QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDCompletion of a relevant apprenticeshipValid state license permitting practicing as journeyman electricianFour years of experience as an electricianAbility and willingness to maintain a valid driver’s licenseComputer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word Ability and willingness to travel 100% of the time with overnight staysAbility and willingness to obtain Electrical Contractor Qualifier Licenses or reciprocity in multiple states as required for OmniOn Power.Desired CharacteristicsAbility to work effectively with minimum supervisionStrong customer service mindsetPrior field engineering experienceStrong organizational and leadership skillsStrong project management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience in telco, data center or other critical power facilitiesPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift at least 40 lbs.Using a lifting technique to maneuver, install or remove 80-750 lb. batteriesFrequently pushing or pulling cables up to 60 lbs.Frequently climbing ladders up to 8 ft.Frequently working/standing on ladders for extended periodsContinuous standingFrequently reaching above, below or at shoulder levelFrequently bending, twisting or stoopingFrequently crouching or squattingWill be exposed to varying environments with moderate noise levels, nominal variations in heat and cold
