The successful candidate will be a distinguished scholar and strategic thinker, capable of navigating the complex and rapidly changing landscape of higher education. This role is pivotal in serving the academic mission of the institution, advising the President, and acting as an ambassador for the academic programs. The Provost will be responsible for all aspects of the academic enterprise, including program development, faculty and staff oversight, student support, and retention. A strong understanding of the social, political, and economic factors affecting higher education is essential, as is a collaborative leadership style that fosters trust and engagement with all stakeholders. Applicants for the Provost position at the company should have a proven track record of academic administrative leadership and a deep commitment to the values of a liberal arts education. The role requires an inspiring and motivating leader who can cultivate an inclusive and innovative academic culture, and who is dedicated to the professional development and success of faculty and students. The ideal candidate will have a terminal degree, be tenured in an academic department, and have significant experience in academic governance, faculty development, and student learning. They must be adept at decision-making, particularly in the areas of financial management, and be prepared to champion the integration of academics and student support.
