Strength and Conditioning Coordinator (Female Sports) (DNHS INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY))

Strength and Conditioning Coach The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for establishing and maintaining a strength and conditioning program for all male sports, with the three major goals of improving athletic performance, reducing athletic injuries, and teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills. The Strength and Conditioning Coach devises training plans according to sound scientific principles, supervises training sessions, evaluates athletes, maintains athlete records, and teaches strength and conditioning in-service as needed. The Strength and Conditioning Coach meets regularly with sport coaches to determine what the athletes need to work on. If working with an injured athlete engaged in rehabilitation, the Strength and Conditioning Coach will consult with the sports medicine or athletic training staff. The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for maintaining the strength and conditioning facility, and for establishing policies, plans, and procedures for the safe and professional operation of the facility. Design and implement strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, summer strength program, & pre-season for all school-sanctioned male athletic programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices and our country's Long-Term Athletic/Fitness Development Model. Work in cooperation with the sports medicine or athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes & our male Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. Facilitate a collaborative relationship among sport coaches, sports medicine, and the strength and conditioning staff. Develop systems for tracking athlete attendance and athlete progress in conjunction with the sport coaches. Conduct an annual needs-analysis for each sport team in conjunction with the sport coach and the team's athletic trainer at the conclusion of each sport season. Determine and reinforce expectations for athlete conduct that mirror the school's Athletic Coordinator's expectations. Supervise and coordinate the strength and conditioning sessions before and or after school for all female sports. (must have open weight room hours). Other duties as assigned by the school's Athletic Coordinator. Donna North High School is seeking: A highly motivated individual with knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and programs. A minimum of 2 years of successful head coaching experience. Willingness to work long hours before and after school in order to have an open weight room for all athletes (male & female) Willingness to work our Summer Strength and Conditioning Program Must be able to collaborate with our Male Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and with all female program head coaches. 2 years' experience with Strength and or Conditioning of a program Must be able to communicate effectively with all female program head coaches and the Athletic Coordinator.
