Painter Apprentice

Job SummaryThis role involves ensuring OEM-quality appearance on repaired and refinished panels after painting by using finishing abrasives, buffing equipment, and compounds to refine surface texture. Adherence to established SOPs is essential.Responsibilities IncludeInspecting refinished panels for color match and finish quality, reporting issues promptly.Preparing surfaces for buffing with appropriate techniques and products.Restoring panels to OEM standards using rotary buffers, compounds, and polishes per SOP.Inspecting vehicle surfaces for overspray and cleaning as needed.Removing residue and ensuring acceptable finish quality.Following safety procedures and participating in safety activities.Performing additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.2-5 years buffing or body shop experience preferred; valid respirator fit test required.Paint Certification per HAPS 6H regulation required.Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.Ability to operate vehicles with standard or automatic transmission.Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and lift up to 15 pounds.Manual dexterity and good vision, including color perception.Work Environment & CompensationExposure to chemicals, moderate noise. Hourly pay ranges from $15.10 to $22.69, with potential additional incentives. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, and various leave options.
