DescriptionIdeal Candidate: The ideal candidate is dependable and reliable, at least 21 years of age, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and has a minimum of six months of bar experience. Weekend availability is mandatory, with full availability during the week. Tipped Position! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Depending on experience, the essential duties, responsibilities, points of service and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) outlined below may be taught and demonstrated during the Barback training process. Reports to the Beverage Supervisor. Requires dependable, punctual attendance and be willing to work flexible hours, holidays and attend mandatory meetings when scheduled Interact positively and effectively with guest and co-workers Provides prompt, courteous and efficient service to all Guests Provides prompt, courteous and efficient assistance to the Bartenders Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks Take drink orders and process accurate POS transactions Keep bar station stocked, clean and organized at all times Politely and professionally assist in IDing guests for legal age Make recommendations and answer all related inquires Assist Cocktail Servers in preparing drink orders Adhere to all Company Policies and Departmental SOPs Interact positively and effectively with guest and co-workers Assist in taking Beverage orders and accurately processing them in the POS (Point of Sale) cashiering system Keep garnishes fresh and stocked Keep par levels of all liquor and bar supplies Stock, clean and rotate products as needed in all beverage areas Stock Liquor Cage with incoming products, keep area clean and inventory Assist in keeping the Bar and/or Lounge clean and organized Keep work area in compliance with Health Regulations All other duties as assigned RequirementsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of standard drink recipes Knowledge of spirits, wine and beer Knowledge of bar equipment Knowledge of health and alcohol regulations Requires the ability to follow directions from a Supervisor. Requires the ability to follow directions and procedures EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months' experience working in a Bar environment preferred. AGE and CERTIFICATIONS: 21 years of age or above LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluency in English required. Spanish is a plus. Ability to read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Basic Math skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense judgement to complete a variety of tasks as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see and hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time. The employee is regularly required to reach and lift with hands and arms, and occasionally required to climb or stoop. Employee must be able to lift, carry and push objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas, Employee may be subjected to tobacco smoke. Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
