The department offers:A BS and Nexus in Computing degrees with specializations in Cybersecurity, System and Network Administration, Data Analytics, UI/UX, and Application Development;A BS in Computer Science degree accredited by ABET;A MS in Applied Computer Science degree;Undergraduate certificate in Data Science embedded within the BS in Computer Science or BS in Mathematics degrees.The department is housed within the Technology-Enhanced Learning Center with up-to-date computing classrooms and labs. We seek full-time tenure-track faculty at the Assistant Professor rank to begin January 2027. Exceptional candidates may be hired at the rank of Associate Professor. All applicants are considered, with particular interest in faculty with expertise in data science; cybersecurity; AI; networking; game development; extended reality (XR/AR/MR/VR); and/or graphic/visual computing. Candidates will teach face to face, hybrid, or online courses and may teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels. We value teaching excellence, student engagement, ongoing professional development, scholarly activity, and service to the department, college, and UWG community.Required QualificationsPhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely-related field from an accredited institution. Candidates nearing completion (ABD) will be considered but must complete the doctoral degree prior to start of a tenure-track appointment. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student success, service, and ongoing professional development. SoTL and traditional research are valued. Demonstrated ability in written and oral English is required.Preferred QualificationsExperience with both face-to-face and online teaching.Experience with curricular design.A record of successful external funding.Proposed SalarySalary will be highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
