Oversee and coordinate the Student and Business Information System, including the training of personnel and maintaining data integrity. Provide accurate and efficient data for state reporting, funding, and accountability. Oversee and guide the District's attendance, truancy, dropout recovery initiatives, and accountability to ensure compliance with laws and school policies and procedures.Special Knowledge/Skills:Ability to maintain accurate and auditable recordsAbility to use a personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processingExperience in the use of DbVisualizer or other database management softwareExperience with SQL coding language for database analysisAbility to meet established deadlinesAbility to communicate and collaborate effectively with multiple departments and campusesStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze and problem solveAbility to prioritize to ensure data submissions are accurate and timely metQualifications:Education/Certification:Master's Degree from a college or University (Preferred)Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or UniversityPrincipal or Educational Administrative Certification (Preferred)Teachers Certification (Any level)Experience:Three years of experience as a TeacherThree years of experience as a Campus Administrator or District Level AdministrationExperience in a support position requiring the collection and entry of data. Experience and proven success in producing accurate data and meeting deadlines.Experience in the Frontline ERP system - Student and Business Information System (Preferred)Major Responsibilities and Duties:Oversee, maintain, and support the student information system (SIS).Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of data required for PEIMS, OCR, and TSDS Core Collection submissions according to required data standards.Work cooperatively with the campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit state and federal data promptly.Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.Submit complete and accurate data in the Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format for PEIMS and TSDS Core Collection submissions.Submit complete and accurate data in the Office of Civil Rights (OCR)-prescribed format for biannual OCR submission.Verify data submitted to TEA and OCR; submit corrections promptly.Oversee the coordination of audits when received and when related to student information.Create reports and provide information for data analysis throughout the district.Complete public information requests in the required timeframe and through a secure process.Coordinate and analyze the district's discipline in conjunction with the Student Management DepartmentOversee the dissemination of the current Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH) and serve as support for district questions concerning the district's attendance eligibility and accounting procedures.Oversee the district's attendance, monitoring truancy and dropout prevention and recovery program to ensure student attendance and maximize completion rates.Support at risk of academic school failure or drop out.Provide guidance and interpretation regarding compulsory attendance laws and school policy to parents, students, and staff. Technical Support:Receive TSDS-related information from ESC and TEA and promptly disseminate it to other staff.Attend conferences and workshops to remain current on state and federal reporting and software issues.Perform SIS year-end procedures and function as the SIS primary contact for updates, security, and support cases.Create custom fields, update the interface as needed, and coordinate the integration with other software programs.Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.Responsible for importing, cleansing, transforming, validating, aggregating, and analyzing data from various sources to make conclusions about patterns, trends, and best practices.Creates presentations, graphics, and reports of the results of various data analyses.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.Perform other duties as assigned.Working Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Administrative office environment, high pressure, fast pace, multiple deadlines, people-intensive, frequent public contact, frequent out-of-district travel, extended days, and operation of a non-commercial vehicle.
