divh2Forklift Operator/h2pThe Forklift Operator is responsible for supplying and staging the production lines with all the necessary materials, packaging, dunnage, and equipment and removing finished goods. The Forklift Operator is also responsible for unloading incoming steel coils and loading trucks with finished goods./ppJob Duties:/pulliOperates manufacturing machinery to safely place metal coils on and off an unwinder using a forklift and overhead crane to move material using the proper procedure./liliMove, tag, and store materials and finished goods in proper locations, stacking them safely and properly/liliUnload inbound trucks, ensuring they are appropriately docked and chocked before unloading/liliLoad outbound trucks, ensuring the product is appropriately loaded to include even distribution of weight on the truck/liliEmpty scrap tubs throughout the shift as needed/liliComplete and maintain all required documentation/liliVerifies and documents that all functions of the equipment and vehicle are in safe working condition before the beginning of the shift, including checking fluids and safety devices./liliPerforms other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the Plant./li/ulpWorking Conditions:/pulliThe Forklift Operator is in a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery and equipment in a manufacturing facility. Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature./liliMust be able to bend at the waist and knees, walk and stand for extended periods./liliMust lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary./liliMust be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb (stairs)./liliSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus./liliMust be available to work overtime, including weekends, to meet the organizations needs./li/ulpRequired Education, Experience Skills:/pulliA high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2+ years of experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment. Experience in inventory control preferred/liliAbility to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively with vendors and within all levels of the organization./liliAbility to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment/liliAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals./liliAble to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals./liliAbility to apply common sense understanding to complete written, oral, or diagram instructions./liliMust possess and maintain a valid forklift operators license issued by the Company./li/ul/div
