Equipment Engineer

Job Title: Equipment Engineer (Consultant) Location: New York State, United States Employment Type: Contract (W-2) Duration: Long-term project, expected to last at least two (2) years, subject to business needs and performance.Job SummaryThe Equipment Engineer (Consultant) will support backlog reduction efforts related to obsolete equipment, including technical evaluations and change control activities. This role involves working in a regulated environment and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Candidates from diverse engineering backgrounds who are experienced in maintenance, process, or mechanical engineering and can effectively operate within a compliance-driven environment are encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesPerform backlog reduction of obsolete or aging equipment in accordance with site prioritiesPrepare and document technical evaluations for equipment disposition or replacementInitiate, manage, and close change control records in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, and MaintenanceUtilize CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) to track equipment data, maintenance records, and work ordersEnsure all activities are performed in accordance with GMP and company policiesSupport audits and inspections by maintaining accurate and compliant documentationIdentify opportunities for process improvement related to equipment lifecycle managementRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience7–15 years of relevant engineering experience in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or similar)Working knowledge of GMP regulations and documentation practicesExperience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo or similar toolsStrong technical writing skills and experience preparing evaluations and change control documentationAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWork RequirementsMust be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorshipAbility to work on-site in New York State as required by the roleAdherence to all company safety, quality, and compliance policiesAbility to use standard office and engineering software toolsMay require occasional physical activity such as walking, standing, or inspecting equipment in operational areasSalary/Rate:$50–$55 per hour on W-2. This pay range represents a good-faith estimate in accordance with applicable New York State and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.Benefits:This is a contract position.
