About the Role Corebridge is seeking an experienced commercial contracting attorney to serve as a senior member of the Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory (LCR) department. This lawyer will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing a wide range of commercial agreements that support Corebridge's financial services businesses. The role partners closely with business, compliance, technology, procurement and risk teams to ensure contracts align with regulatory requirements and business objectives. The attorney will supervise and mentor two junior commercial contracting attorneys, providing oversight, quality control and workload management. The attorney reports to the Chief Counsel – Corporate Teams. Responsibilities Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements. Advise on technology and outsourcing related contracts and related statements of work, ordering documents, amendments and addends. Agreements include SaaS, managed service (MSSP), technology products and services, end-user and data licensing agreements, professional services agreements and outsourcing agreements. Experience with third-party administrator (TPA) or business process agreements (BPO) for insurance companies is a plus. Advise on privacy, cybersecurity and data transfer risks and identify issues that require escalation to privacy and cybersecurity subject matter experts. Serve as a trust business leader, translating complex legal concepts into actionable business guidance for business, technology, procurement, risk and compliance teams. Supervise and mentor junior attorneys by reviewing and approving work product, providing coaching, training and performance feedback, and supporting professional development. Collaborate to maintain contract templates and playbooks, monitoring regulatory developments that impact contracts in financial services, technology and outsourcing. Conduct primary research, analysis and draft memos regarding regulatory and legislative changes. Identify opportunities and initiate/lead projects that support Corebridge Financial's strategic goals. Duties may evolve over time and with interest. Financial services experience is preferred. Skills & Qualifications Juris Doctor; U.S. state bar admission; minimum of 8+ years of legal experience with a law firm and/or as in-house counsel. Preferred candidates will have worked at a large national law firm or at a large financial services company. Superior written and verbal communication and analytical skills enabling timely, proactive and practical identification and communication of legal issues and risks. Promote a collaborative high-performance team culture working with peers, internal business clients and outside counsel on high-volume projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Experience with real estate and trademark is also a plus. Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000 to $220,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Work Location This position is based in Corebridge Financial's Houston or Los Angeles office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
