ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Graduate Access & Equity (Great-Op) Program is funded by a 5-year
U.S. Department of Education Title V “Promoting Postbaccalaureate Opportunities for Hispanic
Americans” grant. The purpose of the program is to expand the number of Latinx and low-income
students pursuing and attaining graduate degrees. The program provides academic and financial
support to ensure students’ retention and successful degree completion. Student participants are
provided faculty-mentored research opportunities and field internships; alumni networking; peer
group community; and academic, financial, and career development workshops. The program supports
Chico State faculty to identify and develop new programs, courses, and best teaching and mentoring
approaches to expand graduate student enrollments and student success. We are seeking a highly
collaborative individual with strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in graduate
education.
Under the supervision of the Great-Op directors, this position is an essential part of the team and
provides critical administrative assistance to the program director, co-director, faculty, and student
participants including tracking and managing payroll, fiscal transactions, annual reporting, and
program event planning and management.
Organizes, schedules, and helps directors to deliver workshops, meetings, events, and outreach
activities
Prepares and manages promotions including announcements, website updates, posters, and
social media sites
Prepares and processes business transactions including check requests, procurements, hiring
paperwork, payroll, and student scholar fellowship paperwork
Secures and maintains documentation and student data for annual reports and audits
Researches and reports on academic literature related to best practices to support graduate
student success, particularly related to traditionally underrepresented students.
Coordinates collaborative efforts between the Great-Op program, Graduate Studies, TRIO
partners, and others

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting the success of diverse college students including
Latinx, first-generation, low-income, those with disability, or other individuals
underrepresented in higher education
Experience with graduate education programs and processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
spreadsheets
Proficiency in digital media usage including social medial platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively in a team
environment
Ability to work independently, with only general supervision, and work well with diverse
individuals and groups
Organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks
Preferred:
Master’s Degree or Master’s Degree in progress
Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required
for employment. Chico State Enterprises will make a conditional offer of employment, which
may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is
discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to
satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a
current Chico State Enterprises employee who was conditionally offered the position.
BENEFITS:
Benefits for employees working 30 hours or more per week include employer paid life insurance
($50,000) and long-term disability; options for health, dental, and vision insurance; FSA; 15 paid
holidays including 1 personal holiday; vacation accrual (initially 10 days/year); sick leave (up to 12
