Role Description The Dean of Math is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Mount Vernon, NY. This role will oversee the instructional practices, assessment strategies, and curriculum implementation of the math department to ensure alignment with state and school standards. Responsibilities include coaching and supporting math teachers, analyzing student performance data to drive instructional improvements, developing and executing professional development initiatives, and fostering a culture of academic excellence in mathematics. A collaborative, student-centered approach will be essential in maintaining the highest expectations for teaching and learning. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in math instruction, curriculum design, and instructional strategiesProficiency in data-driven decision-making, student performance analysis, and implementing strategies for academic improvementStrong leadership and coaching abilities to mentor and support educators effectivelyExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience in middle school education is highly desirableMaster's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field required; advanced certifications or training in leadership is a plusCommitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in educationExperience working in a charter school environment is advantageous but not required
