Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing organization based in Greenville. This is a highly hands-on Quality Engineer role with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor. This individual will be actively engaged in day-to-day production environments, working directly with operators, engineers, and leadership to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement.The Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance and control processes to ensure products and services meet or exceed internal and industry standards. This role is ideal for someone who is a proactive problem solver, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated by opportunities for growth and upward mobility within the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, partnering closely with production teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues in real timeDevelop, implement, and continuously improve quality control procedures and standardsLead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective and preventive actions to address product defects and customer concernsDrive process development and optimization initiatives to improve product quality and operational efficiencyUtilize statistical tools such as SPC and FMEA to monitor performance and identify trendsCollaborate cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to address quality issues and ensure alignmentParticipate in customer meetings and support quality related communications and issue resolutionMaintain accurate quality documentation, including inspection reports and compliance recordsSupport internal and external audits and ensure audit readinessChampion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesTravel as needed to support supplier quality and customer initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related fieldProven experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role within a manufacturing environmentStrong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and applicable standardsProficiency in statistical analysis and data driven decision makingAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsDemonstrated ability to solve problems, improve processes, and drive results in a production environmentStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineers, operators, and customersPreferred QualificationsSix Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred and considered a significant advantageExperience with steel structuresKnowledge of welding standards including AWS and AISCBackground in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesWhy This RoleHigh visibility, hands-on role with direct impact on manufacturing operationsOpportunity to lead meaningful process improvements and solve real world production challengesStrong potential for career growth and upward mobility within a growing organizationCollaborative environment with exposure to both internal teams and external customers
