Position Type:Student Support Services/LSSPDate Posted:5/12/2026Location:DistrictSchool Psychologist Job DescriptionThe School Psychologist will support the academic, behavioral, and mental health needs of students through comprehensive evaluation, consultation, and intervention services. This position plays a critical role in supporting special education processes and promoting positive student outcomes.Primary ResponsibilitiesEvaluation and AssessmentConduct comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological evaluations for students referred for special education services.Interpret assessment data to determine eligibility, educational needs, and appropriate instructional supports.Prepare clear, legally defensible evaluation reports and present findings to ARD committees.Participate in reevaluations and review of existing evaluation data (REED).Special Education Services and ARD ParticipationServe as an active member of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee.Facilitate ARD meetings as assigned.Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including measurable goals and appropriate behavioral supports.Provide consultation regarding appropriate placement, services, and accommodations. Mental Health and Behavioral SupportsProvide a continuum of mental health and behavioral services.Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).Support campuses with social-emotional learning and behavior management strategies. Consultation and TrainingProvide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding behavioral and academic interventions.Provide professional development in areas such as:Crisis interventionBehavior management strategiesDe-escalation techniquesPhysical intervention (as trained/required)Support staff in implementing effective classroom behavior supports. Crisis Response and PreventionAssist campuses in crisis response and threat assessment as needed.Support development of crisis intervention plans and prevention strategies.
