Staff Accountant
Staff Accountant We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing organization in the construction/project-based industry. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and partnering cross-functionally with project and operations teams.This is a great opportunity for someone with project accounting or WIP experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.What You'll Do General Accounting & ClosePrepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and perform account reconciliationsSupport monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesAssist in preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAPProject Accounting & WIPMaintain work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and job cost reportingSupport revenue recognition and project profitability trackingAnalyze project costs including labor, materials, and overheadFinancial AnalysisPerform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performanceWork with large datasets using Excel and reporting toolsAudit & ComplianceAssist with audit preparation (financial, tax, insurance)Support tax filings including sales and property taxEnsure adherence to internal controls and company policiesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with AP/AR, project managers, and operations teamsHelp identify process improvements and efficienciesWhat We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)1+ years of accounting experienceConstruction or project accounting experience (WIP) strongly preferredUnderstanding of GAAP fundamentalsStrong Excel skills and ability to analyze dataExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
