Associate Manager, Raw Materials - APPAREL📍 New York | 🏢 Hybrid (3 days onsite)Salary- $70-80k annuallyWe’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Associate Manager, Raw Materials to join an apparel company in NYC! This role sits at the intersection of design, sourcing, and product development, playing a key role in bringing high-quality fabrics and materials to life across multiple brands. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in fabric development, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment while balancing quality, cost, and aesthetic goals.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the fabric development process from initial concept through final adoption, ensuring all timelines and deliverables are metPartner closely with Design, Sales, and Product teams to understand aesthetic direction, hand feel, performance requirements, and cost targetsCollaborate with mills, suppliers, and internal global sourcing teams to execute seasonal sourcing strategies effectivelyEvaluate fabric submissions (lab dips, strike-offs, yardage, etc.) against key parameters including quality, price, lead time, and physical performanceRequest, review, and validate raw material documentation (FDS) to ensure accuracy and complianceMaintain and update seasonal development charts, track adoption rates, and support post-season analysisParticipate in cross-functional team (CFT) meetings, providing clear and timely updates on development status, risks, and solutionsProactively identify potential material risks during development and coordinate testing protocols; communicate results and recommend solutionsSupport bulk production by addressing fabric-related issues and ensuring quality standards are metAttend fabric trade shows and vendor meetings to source new materials and stay current on industry trends, innovation, and sustainability initiativesMaintain accurate data entry and updates within PLM systemsOrganize and manage physical and digital fabric libraries, ensuring materials are easily accessible and well-documentedPrepare materials for internal and external presentations, including racks, boards, and sample bindersHandle daily operational tasks such as package coordination with mills and global officesProvide support on trim sourcing, development tracking, and special projects as neededQualifications:3–7 years of experience in fabric sourcing, textile development, or raw materials managementStrong understanding of fabric construction, performance testing, and product development lifecycleExperience working with mills and global vendors across multiple regionsProficiency in PLM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel skills strongly preferred)Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teamsDetail-oriented with a proactive and solution-driven mindsetWhy Join Us?
