About the RoleA production supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of a manufacturing department that specializes in thermoforming, using specialized equipment, paint and finishing aerospace goods. They ensure production targets are met efficiently, products meet quality standards and safety protocols are followed. Additionally, they often lead and motivate a team of workers, allocate resources and communicate with higher level management to optimize production processes.ResponsibilitiesSupervision: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a production team, ensuring they meet production targets and quality standards.Resource Allocation: Assign tasks and resources to workers, ensuring that equipment, materials and personnel are used effectively.Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality control processes to maintain product quality and compliance.Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are followed.Training and Development: Train new employees, provide guidance and facilitate employee development.Production Scheduling: Create and manage production schedules to meet demand.Problem-Solving: Address production issues, equipment malfunctions and process inefficiencies in a timely and effective manner.Reporting: Maintain production records, track key performance indicators (KPI's) and generate reports.Cost Control: Monitor and control production costs to stay within budget and improve efficiency.Communication: Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials and information.Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts or challenges within the production team and work toward positive resolutions.Adherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies and environmental standards.Team Leadership: Provide leadership to the production team and motivate employees.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, safety measures, maintenance and employee performance.Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing techniques and promote a culture of continuous improvement. QualificationsBachelor's degree or qualifications in a related field is preferred. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment is required.Pay range and compensation packageThe final compensation offered to the candidate may be based on geographical location, work experience and/or skill level.
