NOW HIRING: We are looking for a Mechatronics Technician 1 to join our Circular Products team in Winsted. The Mechatronics Technician 1supports equipment reliability and uptime by diagnosing complex failures, performing equipment rebuilds, fabricating replacement components, and assisting in the installation and improvement of production equipment. This role works closely with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance, safety, and reliability. This position is a part of the maintenance department.Location: Winsted, MNSalary Range: $25.50 - 30.00 per hour (non-exempt)(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)Shift Schedule: 1st shift: Monday – Friday 5am - 1pm or 7am - 3pmShift Differential: 1at shift - N/AAs a Mechatronics Technician 1, you will:Troubleshoot, repair, and/or install production equipment, including motors, generators, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, clutches, bearings, pumps, computerized equipment, and other devices, following elementary logic/wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manualsApply mechanical/electrical/electronic theory and related knowledge with a primary focus on control systems and a secondary focus on mechanical systems. Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to restore equipment to safe and reliable operationPerform equipment rebuilds, retrofits, and modifications to improve performance and reliabilityFabricate and machine replacement parts and components as required to support equipment repairs and improvementsInstall, assemble, and commission new production equipment and machineryInterpret and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawingsPerform preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance tasks, and reliability improvementsSupport root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for recurring equipment issuesAssist with Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and efficiencySafely operate shop equipment, including mills, welders, plasma cutters, and other fabrication toolsSafely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, man lifts, and other powered industrial equipmentMaintain accurate maintenance documentation, including PM reports and work requestsMaintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areaCommunicate equipment issues, repair status, and improvement opportunities with maintenance leadership and operationsRole Qualifications as a Mechatronics Technician 1:High School diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical AAS degree with emphasis on Mechatronics, or in pursuit of a degreeFive or more years of maintenance experience or skilled trades experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systemsAbility to troubleshoot complex equipment failures and determine root causeExperience with welding, machining, and metal fabrication strongly preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprintsStrong understanding of industrial equipment installation and alignment practicesAbility to use precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and multimetersAbility to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and other powered industrial vehiclesAbility to operate a variety of power tools, fabrication equipment, and maintenance toolsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex repairsAbility to work effectively as part of a high-performance teamAbility to adapt to changing priorities and support production needsPhysical Demands:This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery.
