The Head Coach is responsible for developing a positive, skill-focused, and student-centered athletic experience that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.Responsibilities include:Planning, organizing, and leading all practices and gamesTeaching fundamental basketball skills and age-appropriate strategiesCreating a positive team culture that supports sportsmanship, effort, and respectSupervising student-athletes during practices, games, and travelCommunicating effectively with athletes, families, and school staffManaging equipment, uniforms, and practice facilitiesSupporting academic expectations and positive behavior of student-athletesEnsuring compliance with school, district, and MSHSAA policies Qualifications:Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and middle school-level coaching strategiesAbility to work effectively with middle school studentsStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsPrevious coaching or playing experience preferredMust meet all district and MSHSAA coaching requirements
