Gastroenterology Physician Assistant

Annual Salary: $125k $160k (varies depending on years of experience)We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our client s Gastroenterology (GI) practice. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions in both outpatient and clinical settings. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a team of gastroenterologists and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.Key Responsibilities:Perform detailed patient histories, physical examinations, and assessments for patients with GI-related conditions.Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, and more.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as bloodwork, imaging, and endoscopic procedures, to guide patient management.Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and best practices.Assist with or perform minor procedures, if credentialed, such as paracentesis or management of feeding tubes.Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, ensuring proper education and pre-procedure care.Provide education to patients and families about gastrointestinal conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications, diet, and medication adherence to improve GI health.Collaborate with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.Coordinate care with primary care providers, dietitians, and other specialists as needed.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).Ensure compliance with practice protocols, standards of care, and state/federal regulations.Requirements:Master s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in New Jersey.Experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty preferred but not required; new graduates with strong interest in GI are welcome to apply.Experience in ordering and interpreting GI-specific diagnostic tests.Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a collaborative team.Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate careAtlas Search is a tri-state area recruitment agency, connecting new graduates, Advanced Practice Providers, Physicians and Nurse Leaders to hospitals, clinics, multi-specialty groups, nursing homes, managed care companies, private practices, and healthcare start-ups.
