Litigation Associate (Hybrid)

Keller and Heckman LLP, an international law firm based in Washington, D.C., is seeking a junior to mid-level Litigation Associate to join our growing team in our Washington, D.C. Office. Keller and Heckman combines a top-tier regulatory practice with a sophisticated litigation platform, offering associates early responsibility on complex matters for major domestic and international clients. This is a partnership-track position.The associate will work across a broad range of litigation matters and support our leading Food and Drug regulatory practice.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle matters in both Federal and California State courts.Work on cases involving false advertising, environmental and Proposition 65, food and drug, occupational health and safety/employment, consumer products, product liability and safety, insurance, privacy, and telecom.Assist with general commercial litigation and E-Discovery matters.Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and manage written and electronic discovery.Participate in depositions, hearings, and other court proceedings as experience allows.Collaborate with attorneys across all firm offices and take on substantial client-facing responsibility early in your tenure.Qualifications3+ years of litigation experience in Federal and State courts.Experience in one or more of the firm’s focus areas (e.g., false advertising, environmental, Proposition 65, food and drug, occupational health and safety/employment, consumer products, product liability and safety, insurance, privacy, or telecom).Strong general litigation skills, including research, writing, motion practice, discovery, and case management; experience with Proposition 65 and/or false advertising is a plus.Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical, research, writing, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to assume responsibility and manage multiple client priorities.Must be admitted to the D.C. Bar and in good standing, or eligible to waive into the D.C. Bar.A desire to learn, take direction, and thrive in a collegial, team-based environment is essential. Successful associates at Keller and Heckman receive significant client responsibility and exposure to cutting-edge regulatory and health and safety issues.Work environmentThis position is based in our Washington, D.C. Office with a hybrid work arrangement consistent with the Firm’s Telework Policy for Professionals. New lateral associates can expect to spend more time in the office initially to support onboarding, training, and collaboration, with increased flexibility over time based on experience and performance.You will receive mentorship from partners and senior attorneys and have opportunities to second chair complex matters and develop client relationships.Compensation and BenefitsWe offer an excellent benefit package, a bonus plan, and salary commensurate with experience. For this position, the salary range is $175,000 - $225,000, which represents the presently anticipated low and high ends of our salary range for this role. Actual salary may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to job-related experience.
