DescriptionCommercial Roofing Service TechnicianPosition IdentificationReports to: Service ManagerPosition SummaryThe Roofing Service Technician is part of a two-man crew that performs a variety of flat membrane, metal, and shingle roof related repairs for Service Department clients within a 2 hour radius of the Bloomington office. This is a Union position within Local 119.Job FunctionsAssist lead technician in identifying and resolving leak sourcesInstalling and repairing various components of flat roof material and flashings Setting up ladders and safety equipment for accessing roof elevationsAssisting in loading or carrying miscellaneous roofing materials and equipment Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)High school graduate1 year of experience with commercial roofing repair work or proven competency in construction tradesValid driver’s license and reliable transportation to main officeAbility to perform physical outdoor laborAbility to do general mathKey CompetenciesRepair/installation experience with EPDM, TPO, PVC membrane roofingExperience using construction related hand tools and equipmentWorking ConditionsPhysical surroundings: Field environment with exposure to heights, noise and temperature. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold and in windy conditions.Physical Effort: Walking, turning, stooping and reaching for and carrying materials, stepping over and around obstacles, climbing ladders and scaffolding.Travel: Local and surrounding countiesHours: Subject to overtimeThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by persons assigned to this position.
