Senior EDI Developer

Our state government client is seeking a enior EDI Developer / EDI Expert to support healthcare claims processing systems for a state agency. This role focuses on the full lifecycle of EDI claims transactions, including intake, adjudication, and outbound responses to providers.The ideal candidate will have strong experience with HIPAA EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271) and hands-on experience working with healthcare claims systems.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and support end-to-end EDI claims processing lifecycleReview, update, and document EDI transaction flows and claims processesWork as an SME supporting modernization of legacy systems into .NET platformCollaborate with project managers, developers, and business analystsWrite technical specifications based on business requirementsEnsure accurate EDI file exchanges with trading partnersTroubleshoot and resolve EDI transmission and data issuesSupport onboarding of providers and clearinghousesProvide production support / helpdesk support for EDI transactionsParticipate in system testing and validationRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field5+ years of EDI experience (Healthcare)Strong experience with HIPAA EDI formats (837, 835, 270/271)Solid understanding of claims processing lifecycleExperience with database/SQLKnowledge of HIPAA regulationsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExcellent communication skillsHighly DesiredHealthcare / Public Health domain experienceExperience with IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (WTX)Experience working with state or government systemsExposure to .NET modernization projects
