Don't miss out - apply today and start your journey with Team Apex!Job SummaryThe primary functions of the Area Manager are to help the Company grow by soliciting new business in a designated region and by leading a team of Account Managers in maintaining and expanding the Company's business base by maximizing the profitability of assigned customer accounts and acquiring new customers.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesLead business development activities in assigned geographic areaManage a team of Account ManagersSell and service key accountsGenerate value by sharing ideas and identifying long-term opportunities to grow our organization in numerous waysDevelop a business plan and sales strategy for the region that ensures attainment of Company sales goals and profitabilityBe responsible for the performance and development of Area Field Sales TeamPrepare action plans for individuals, as well as teams, for effective sales campaignsAssist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as neededConduct one-on-one reviews with all direct reports to build more effective communications, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for the improvement of their sales and activity performanceProvide timely feedback to senior management regarding performanceMaintain accurate records of all pricing, sales, and reports submitted by direct reportsCreate and conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses and assist direct reports in preparation of proposals and presentationsControl expenses to meet company guidelinesAdhere to all Company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the teamAdhere to and support all safety policies and guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentFour (4) years of experience in technical sales and service in industrial water treatment or specialty chemicals industryTwo (2) years of team leadership experienceWorking knowledge of cooling tower systems, steam generation, and chilled/hot/process water closed-loop systemsKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ability to learn internal business systemsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong business development and relationship-building skillsMechanical/technical aptitudeAbility to work independently and without supervision; effectively plan, organize and execute activitiesValid driver's license and adherence to Company standards for operating motor vehicleAbility and willingness to physically provide service at customer facilities within a wide range of environmentsAbility and willingness to be away from home for overnight travel 3-4 nights/monthPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fieldFive (5)+ years of experience in technical sales and service in industrial water treatment or specialty chemical industryThree (3)+ years of team leadership experienceProven history of achieving and exceeding sales goals consistentlyAn offer of employment at Apex Water and Process is subject to a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
