Activities Assistant/CNA | Qualifications:
The Day Room Assistant provides and assists in planning and implementation of individual and/or group programs and assists registrants with their ADL’s.
Must be eligible for or have successfully completed the New York State Department of Health mandated clinical and written/oral exams for Nurse's Aide certification and be a high school graduate.
Previous experience in a rehabilitative/geriatric setting or two (2) years working in a recreational therapy setting is preferred.
Must possess good moral character, patience and compassion for the elderly.
Activities Assistant/CNA | Role & Responsibilities:
The Day Room Assistant is supervised by the Dayroom Coordinator. The job duties and responsibilities are to be performed while observing the following standards: job standard (knowledge, ability, and skills), technical skill, quality, quantity, judgement/problem solving, decision making, and initiative. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Communicate and write well to ascertain disabled registrants needs surrounding recreational activities needs and choices, document ADL's and activities per New York State Department of Health regulations.
Physically assist disabled registrants (minimal to total assistance needs) in the performance of scheduled recreational activities.
Provide activities of daily living and personal care to registrants according to plan of care.
Assist registrants with feeding, meal setup and serving meals and snacks. Additional tasks may include, but are not limited to engaging and assisting registrants with activities (arts & crafts, bingo, cards, games, etc.)
Maintain equipment for recreational activities.
Assist with the therapy programming under the supervision of licensed professional rehabilitative staff as needed.
Transport registrants to therapy in a timely manner.
Perform other related duties as required by their manager.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
