Sr. Electrical Engineer (Data Centers)
Overview
As an Electrical Engineer in Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group, you will design power distribution, UPS, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities. You collaborate with a multi-discipline team to produce construction documents and support on-site construction, while mentoring and growing your expertise. This role offers exposure to large-scale greenfield and retrofit projects and a hybrid work environment. You’ll impact client outcomes by delivering robust electrical designs for resilient facilities.

ResponsibilitiesDesign power distribution, UPS, emergency systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications for data center facilitiesDesign retrofit solutions to meet evolving client requirementsManage quality, scope, budget, and schedule of design projectsReview design packages for accuracy and completenessCollaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to construction documentsInteract with clients, owners, and contractors to support on-site constructionMentor junior staff and participate in career development opportunitiesSupport design process and ensure alignment with project goals
Key requirementsSix years of experience in engineering design of medium and low voltage distribution, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distributionExtensive knowledge of industrial facility designWorking knowledge of Revit or BIM softwareSolid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC)Effective verbal and written communication skillsBachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (preferred)Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)At least three years of data center facility design experience (preferred)Analytical and problem-solvingCollaboration and teamworkForward thinking and quick learnerRevit or BIM softwareNFPA 70 (NEC) knowledgeData center facility design experience
