Partner - General Liability - Insurance Defense

Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionThe Partner plays a key leadership role in both the legal and business functions of the firm, managing complex cases while supervising teams, guiding attorneys, and coordinating operational needs. This includes advising clients, representing them in court and administrative proceedings, and shaping strategy based on an understanding of relevant laws and regulations. Partners also contribute to hiring, budgeting, compliance, and the overall growth and direction of the firm.Primary Job Duties:Advise clients in business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits or legal rights and obligationsIndependently manage cases from start to finish: pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediation, and trial prep including supervision of associates and staff membersSelect jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trialAnalyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations with probable case outcomes for individuals and businessesRepresent clients in court or before government agencies, present and summarize cases to judges and juriesGather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions; evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments for presentation of casesConduct extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefsManage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independenceAnnual billable amount of 1950 hours requiredKey Competencies:Communicating - Service Supervisors provide the information required by others in a concise, direct, and unambiguous way.
