SummaryThis position will serve as an Information Receptionist at the VA Medical Center located in Battle Creek - MI. The Information Receptionist works independently - is self-directed - and has the knowledge and skills necessary for the operations of lodging patients on a given tour.QualificationsTO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-4 GRADE LEVEL - YOU MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: EXPERIENCE: I possess at least one full year of general experience performing progressively responsible clerical - office - or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience includes providing customer service and communicating with a wide variety of people of different backgrounds. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title - duties - month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. ~OR~ SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: I have successfully completed two years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. Physical demands required - the ability to lift up to 40 pounds - and able to push linen carts - wheelchairs - and other wheeled items.
