Principal Structures Engineer – Space SystemsLead Vehicle EngineerA European space company developing next-generation orbital transportation systems is looking for a Principal Structures Engineer to lead the design and development of large aerospace structures for a high-performance spacecraft platform.This is a senior, hands-on engineering role focused on taking complex flight hardware from early concept through manufacturing, integration, and qualification.Key responsibilities:• Lead structural architecture and mechanical design of the vehicle• Own development of primary metallic structures, tanks, thrust frames, and load-bearing assemblies• Drive structural sizing, interfaces, manufacturing strategy, and qualification activities• Work closely with propulsion, avionics, systems, and production teams• Support supplier selection, industrialisation, and assembly processesLooking for engineers with experience in:• Spacecraft or launch vehicle structures• Aerospace primary structures• Propulsion structures or pressure vessels• Structural design for flight hardware• High-performance metallic assemblies and manufacturingIdeal backgrounds could include:• Launch systems• Satellites / spacecraft• Motorsport / high-performance aerospace• Defence or advanced aerospace hardware
