Energy Efficiency Adviser (Hybrid)
The Energy Efficiency Adviser is responsible for outreach and education activities to promote energy efficiency programs to end customers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, engineers, architects, and others who provide energy-efficient equipment or services.Foster relationships with trade allies to maximize the number and size of submitted projectsDevelop projects directly with customersRepresent the program at industry eventsLearn and utilize CRM tools for project and lead managementCultivate, track, and manage program leadsOversee projects submitted by customers and trade alliesPartner with a Project Coordinator to gather required documentation for project approval and closeoutReview and validate project workbooks, ensuring technical accuracy and adjusting for scope changes or inspectionsConduct outbound outreach to meet assigned energy savings targetsManage field time effectively through customer and trade ally visitsDevelop and deliver presentations to drive program participationRespond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person to move projects forwardWork with building owners, property managers, and facility engineers to provide energy efficiency guidanceDevelop a strong understanding of program goals and customer business needsIdentify on-site energy efficiency opportunities and provide follow-up supportDiscuss technical aspects of energy-consuming equipment such as lighting, HVAC, and hot water systemsMaintain accurate data in spreadsheets and databases to track energy savings and project progressMaintain a professional appearance when representing the organization and utilityBuild strong rapport with customers and initiate conversations regarding energy usageProvide written reports to customers and program leadership as requiredCollaborate with team members to support continuous improvement effortsJob SkillsAbility to translate technical concepts into clear, understandable languageStrong ability to manage a high volume of clients and stakeholdersAbility to multitask and prioritize effectivelyStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailPositive, team-oriented mindsetProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight travelAbility to perform field work, including standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling for extended periodsAbility to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditionsMust follow all safety and health protocols during site visitsReliable transportation required for travel within the assigned territoryValid driver's license with a clean driving recordPreferred SkillsBachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or related fieldCertified Energy Auditor (Commercial) designationExperience in commercial or industrial energy efficiency, technical sales, B2B, or construction-related salesExperience & Education MinimumsBachelor's degree in Business or a technical field, or 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, account management, or similar rolesAt least 1 year of experience working with energy efficiency programs or products within a utility, government, non-profit, or public agencyBenefits:Health Insurance401kPay Range: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
