Drop Bury Technician
As a Drop Bury Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground telecommunications cables, including fiber optic and coaxial cables. Your primary role is to ensure that cables are properly buried and connected from the service provider's infrastructure to the customer's premises. This position requires physical labor, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Cable Installation: Install underground cables (fiber optic, coaxial) by trenching, boring, or using drop plow methods from the network provider’s infrastructure to the customer’s location.
Site Assessment: Conduct pre-installation site surveys to determine the most efficient and safe route for cable installation.
Utility Locating: Identify and avoid existing underground utilities (electric, water, gas) to prevent damage during installation.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of equipment.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various tools and machinery such as trenchers, boring machines, and plows.
Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets company standards and complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain the installation process, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the service provided.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair issues related to buried cables, including signal loss, physical damage, and connection problems.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and materials used. Complete work orders and submit reports as required.
Requirements:
Valid Driver License and Social Security Card.
Minivan or Pick Up Truck.
