Job Title: Senior Tax AccountantLocation: Annapolis, MDPosition Type: Full-TimeReports To: Manager / Principal / PartnerPosition Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Tax Accountant with 5–10 years of public accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality service and guidance. A successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, leadership, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Key Responsibilities:Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns (individual, corporate, partnership, trust and nonprofit)Supervise, mentor and train staff, providing constructive feedback and technical guidanceConduct technical research on complex tax and accounting issues and prepare memoranda as neededServe as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong, professional relationshipsMonitor engagement budgets, timelines and deliverables to ensure efficient project completionStay current with evolving tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory changesIdentify opportunities for value-added services and contribute to the firm’s growth and client retentionQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Accounting or Tax preferred)CPA license preferred or in active pursuit5–10 years of recent experience in a public accounting firmStrong technical knowledge of tax regulationsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple complex engagements and lead teamsProficient in accounting and tax software (e.g., UltraTax, QuickBooks, etc.)Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skillsProfessional presence and ability to work directly with clientsCommitted to continuous learning and leadership developmentWillingness to work extended hours during peak periods, including evenings and weekends
