With an industry-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future!Job DescriptionGeneral Objectives:Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Reliability Engineer, the Maintenance Predictive Maintenance (PDM) Technician typically works a 12 hour, straight day, 5-4 schedule. The role of the Maintenance PDM Technician is intended to focus on oil sample analysis and to improve equipment reliability and achieve longer component life at a lower cost.Key Areas Of Responsibilities & DutiesThe key responsibilities of the Maintenance PDM Technician include, but are not limited to the following:Perform Pre-PM inspections on Komatsu / Hitachi haul trucks and Caterpillar support equipment to identify maintenance defects.Performs Field Level Risk Assessments and actively participate to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in terms of safety, environment, quality, and efficiency.Perform oil analysis on PM samples and report on findings to reliability engineer and planning departmentPerform Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Equipment Criticality evaluations on Plant and Mobile Equipment in accordance with industry best practices.Work with the Planner/Scheduler to create and maintain preventive maintenance tasks identified through RCM practices.Participate in root cause analysis and reliability centered maintenance training to maintenance and operations employeesLiaise with Equipment Reliability Service who analyzes sample data and makes recommendations; close issues when completedParticipate in the training on software provided by Equipment Reliability Service and become fluent in navigation and update records.Perform simple maintenance and upkeep on oil analysis machinesCarry out inspections and create work requests/orders for corrective actions in CMMSAnalyze components on planning 90 Day Horizon for replacement now or pursuit of longer lifeParticipate in the training and assist maintenance technicians with proper oil sampling techniques Perform duties and activities in a manner that conforms to all safety practices and other policies, procedures and standards that are established by the company or required by lawCollect and analyze data on all types of mobile and fixed equipment using predictive maintenance technologies; including but not limited to vibration analysis, oil analysis, diesel emission, infrared, ultrasonic, and acoustic imagingAnalyze components on planning 90 Day Horizon for replacement now or pursuit of longer lifeAbility to adapt to changing technology methodsCapable of reading and disseminating information from schematics and maintenance manualsImplement continuous improvement of maintenance strategy that fully utilizes available workforce to achieve maximum equipment availabilityDetermines severity of equipment down times and estimates time to make repairsResponsible for compliance with company contamination control policiesUnwavering commitment to environmental stewardship including immediately reporting and mitigating spills and other environmental impactsMust be able to communicate effectively, in English, using all standard forms of business communicationPerform other duties as assignedRequired SkillsWillingness to train and achieve MLA1 and MLT1 oil analysis certifications through designated vendor (company paid)The willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditionsFamiliarity with NDT techniques including but not limited to Ultrasonic, Infrared, Magnetic particleAbility to safely lift 50 poundsGeneral computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programsA good work ethic with the ability to work well with othersGood verbal and written communication skillsStrong Mathematical skillsRequired ExperienceMinimum five years' experience of heavy equipment maintenance is requiredKnowledge of parts and servicing of Cat, Hitachi & Komatsu equipmentPrevious training and experience with application of predictive maintenance technologies and associated software and hardware preferredStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in heavy machineryFamiliarity with hand and power tools commonly used in equipment maintenanceAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawingsComputer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, Along with SAPUnderstanding of failure and wear analysisStrong understanding of safety policies and procedures relating to mine equipment and maintenance practices (i.e., guarding, blocking, lock out tag out)Experience working with computerized inventory control systems preferredExperience with, or the ability to learn about and use, parts issuing processPreferredMLA1 and MLT1 Oil Analysis CertificationNDT (UT, IR and magnetic particle) trained and/or certifiedSSR Mining Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
