Operating in a supportive and collaborative environment, we pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation and excellence in care.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Recreation Therapist-Independent Contractor, based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The Recreation Therapist will develop and implement therapeutic recreational activities tailored to the needs of clients. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, creating individualized therapeutic plans, facilitating group and one-on-one sessions, and maintaining accurate and thorough progress notes. The role may also involve incorporating creative modalities, such as art, dance, journaling, as well as physical fitness and sports to enhance client outcomes and participating in collaborative program development in their community.QualificationsExpertise in Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation approachesKnowledge and certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)CPR/AED certifiedExperience with maintaining detailed and accurate Progress NotesSkills in creative modalities to enrich client engagementExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for diverse groupsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related fieldExperience working with individuals in healthcare or community-based settings is a plus
