Our global sales force solidifies BioMarin’s commercial presence in the United States and Europe and is rapidly growing in other regions, such as South America, EuMEA, and Asia-Pacific.Position SummaryThe Associate Director, Government Pricing (GP) is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring full compliance with U.S. government pricing regulations while shaping pricing strategy across the organization. This role serves as a key subject matter expert, advising cross-functional stakeholders on the downstream impact of commercial decisions on government pricing metrics and obligations. The role reports to Government Pricing Director.The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in government pricing with strong business acumen, enabling them to influence strategy, optimize processes, and ensure accurate and compliant reporting in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Government Pricing Director for all activities related to:Government pricing calculations, submissions, and compliance, including AMP, ASP, Best Price, PHS, and FSS/VAGovernment contracting processes and ensure alignment with regulatory requirementsStrategic guidance on the government pricing implications of commercial contracting decisionsThird-party vendor management supporting Medicaid, TRICARE, and Medicare Part D rebate processingInternal & external audit teams to complete SOX control and other audit-related activitiesPartner with Customer Operations and Order-to-Cash teams to maintain accurate class of trade and membership dataMonitor legislative and regulatory developments in collaboration with Government Affairs; assess and communicate potential business impactSupport financial planning by advising on gross-to-net assumptions and pricing impactsIdentify and implement process improvements, systems enhancements, and automation opportunities to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency Candidate Profile Experience & Expertise10+ years of experience in pricing, finance, contracting, or a related analytical function within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industryMinimum 5 years of direct, hands-on government pricing experienceDeep expertise in U.S. government pricing methodologies, including AMP, ASP, Best Price, PHS, and FSS/VAStrong understanding of current regulatory requirements and compliance frameworksExperience working with third-party vendors and rebate processing systemsFamiliarity with state Medicaid operations is a plusExperience presenting complex analyses and recommendations to senior and executive-level audiencesDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and governance forumsCapabilities & MindsetStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into business impactHigh degree of ownership and ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skillsPassion for the intersection of government pricing, compliance, and commercial strategyContinuous improvement orientation, with a focus on process optimization and scalabilityNote: This description is not intended to be all-inclusive, or a limitation of the duties of the position.
