The Physician Assistant will play a key role in delivering high-quality cardiovascular surgical care while demonstrating leadership and mentorship within the PA team and clinical staff.CompensationInquire for details.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures as First AssistSupport open-heart surgery program and perioperative carePerform vein/vessel harvesting when requiredManage pre-operative and post-operative patient careConduct patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planningOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and medicationsProvide inpatient clinical management and care coordinationCollaborate with surgeons, physicians, and healthcare teamsMaintain accurate documentation using EMR (Epic)Provide mentorship and leadership to PA team and staffQualificationsGraduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master s preferred)Active New York State Physician Assistant licenseNCCPA certification requiredCurrent DEA registrationBLS and ACLS certifications requiredCompletion of NYS Infection Control certificationRecent OR experience requiredExperience as Cardiothoracic Surgery First Assist and vessel harvesting preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred)Working HoursFull-time 12.5-hour shifts (Day Shift)Flexible schedule rotation.SkillsCardiothoracic surgery • First assist • Open-heart surgery • Vessel harvesting • Perioperative care • Critical thinking • EMR (Epic)Job LocationOceanside, NY, 11572
