Senior Software Engineer – Data Infrastructure

Project DescriptionOur client is a global jewelry manufacturer and reaches millions of people across more than 100 countries, and every one of those touchpoints depends on data flowing cleanly from source systems into a governed, trusted foundation.This role is not about building processing pipelines or designing domain data models — that work belongs to the D&A engineers who build on top of what you provide. Your job is to build the Python-based services and automation that provision, govern, and harden the company's data storage infrastructure as it rolls out a new data strategy.This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for an engineer who takes pride in building infrastructure that other engineers can trust and build on without thinking twice.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain the platform's REST APIs and automations that provision and govern analytics tools on AzureBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment tooling for platform and infrastructure componentsImplement monitoring, observability, and alerting across distributed cloud systems to ensure platform reliabilityContribute to architectural discussions and help shape the technical direction of the data platformMentor peers and provide technical leadership within the teamPartner with D&A engineers and other stakeholders to ensure the platform meets the needs of teams building on top of itChampion engineering best practices: clean code, testability, modularity, and disciplined version controlSkills Required5+ years of experience as a software engineer on enterprise-scale projectsBackground in building and operating modular monolith platformsWell-versed in Azure cloud servicesProficient in Python and Bash, with strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, testability, modularity, and disciplined version controlExperience with Terraform applied at platform scaleWell-versed in Azure cloud servicesA track record of building and operating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform toolingSkilled at implementing monitoring, observability, and alerting for distributed or cloud systemsStrong communicator, able to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersFluent English, written and spokenNice to Have:Experience with Databricks, Power BI, OpenMetadata, Apache Kafka or KubernetesEngagement Model: Direct Independent Contractor (Please read carefully)This is an independent contractor opportunity based on a direct contractual relationship between Zoolatech and the individual service provider.To facilitate this direct partnership, we engage with professionals who are registered and operate as a sole proprietorship, private entrepreneur, or an equivalent self-employment status in your country.Please note, our model does not accommodate contracts through third-party intermediaries such as agencies, incubators, or umbrella companies.
