As a Document Control & Engineering Administrator, you will provide administrative and technical support to document control and engineering teams by maintaining engineering documentation, supporting process improvements, ensuring data integrity, and facilitating communication between engineering, production, and quality teams.What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Document Control & Engineering AdministrationMaintain Change Request(CR)/Change Order(CO) databases and support all phases of the CR & CO process and implementationMaintain Product Structures (BOM), process corrections and buildsMaintain CRs, COs, and engineering drawing archivalMaintain engineering libraries and documentation systemsEngineering & Technical SupportProvide engineering support and technical evaluationsDevelop technical redlines and review drawing quality for accuracy and completenessAssist engineering teams in identifying parent-child relationships within systems and assembliesUpdate supplier specifications with proper revision control and archivingSupport assembly and test procedure documentationAssign drawing reviews for sign-off in a timely mannerProcess Improvement & Cross-Functional SupportGenerate reporting requirements and coordinate with direct Manager and/or IT to develop reportsInterface between engineering, production, and quality control departmentsAssist with manufacturing problem-solving initiatives and solution developmentSupport research and recommendations for new system implementations within IFSContribute to continuous improvement initiatives for document controlTechnical Publications & Knowledge ManagementDocument and maintain engineering processes, procedures, and standardsUpdate documentation process policies and flowchartsUpdate engineering design process policies and flowchartsUpdate CAD standards, policies, and flowchartsWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required ExperienceExperience with MRP systems, preferably IFSProficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor and/or SolidworksProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and WordExperience supporting document control, engineering administration, or technical documentation functionsStrong organizational and detail-oriented skillsPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionEffective decision-making and reasoning skills aligned with company guidelinesSelf-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyEducation & CertificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or related field preferredEquivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be consideredTravel & Working EnvironmentOffice environment requiring regular use of computers and standard office equipmentLight lifting and physical activity required to perform essential job functionsLimited travel may be required based on business needsPost-offer background check and drug screening requiredHow We Live Our CultureOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
