This role is responsible for the analytical evaluation of fragrance-product interactions and fragrance raw materials via various methods including but not limited to: thermal analyses, spectroscopy, microscopy and GC/MS. In this senior role, you will collaborate with Product Integrity teams, Perfumery, Fragrance Analytics and Research & Innovation to provide technical guidance and recommend solutions based on project initiatives. This position is laboratory anchored and includes analysis across all product categories including Home Care, Air Care, Fabric Care and Beauty Care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate and maintain analytical testing instrumentation, including: DSC, TGA, NIR, polarizing microscopy. Have working knowledge of GC-MS.Develop working knowledge of capabilities and limitations of instruments and software to develop meaningful, accurate, precise data for trend analysisDevelop test methodologies to support internal and external project initiatives in various product categories.Analyze all test data and issue reportsProvide technical oversight to internal stakeholders and customersProactively provide technical solutions for continuous improvementCollaborate with colleagues regarding study design and problem solving. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Scientific/Technical studies5+ years in fragrance, personal care, or household product company in a laboratory setting. Experience with thermal analyses preferredAbility to think conceptually beyond the scope of a project/taskAbility to differentiate various odors and colorsProficiency in computer systems such as Outlook, Excel, etc.Strong written and oral skills.
