Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and trauma centers. This role is crucial for ensuring optimal respiratory function and improving patient outcomes through effective assessment, treatment, and education. Duties Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans based on clinical findings. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including bronchodilators, oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation support. Monitor patients in critical care settings such as the ICU and PICU, ensuring timely interventions for any changes in respiratory status. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care in both hospital medicine and outpatient clinic environments. Educate patients and their families on respiratory health management, medication administration, and the use of respiratory equipment. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care standards within the department. Requirements Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification as required by state regulations. Experience in a hospital setting is preferred; familiarity with Level I Trauma Centers is a plus. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory therapy and pediatrics. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as the OR or ICU. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
