Overall Job SummaryThe West Region consists of stores in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MS, NE, NM, OK, OR, TN, TX, WA.This position is responsible for the management of the field organization for a Petsense Division through District Managers resulting in the accomplishment of specific financial and operational goals. This position is responsible for the leading the stores and districts to achieve their financial plans, surpass key metrics, drive our strategic initiatives and be an ambassador for our Petsense culture through living up to our purpose mission and values.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)Supervise and manage Division, District Managers, up to 100 store locationsProvide for the development of subordinates, specifically the identification and development of field management through goals, the performance review process, succession planning, coaching, training, and mentoring. Lead implementation of our field based strategic initiatives by creating, implementing, and executing programs, business practices, policies, and procedures to support customer-centric culture and maximize sales, store operations, customer satisfaction and the total customer shopping experience in stores. Ensure the appropriate mix between local “feel” and standardization across our stores. Hold DM’s accountable to store standards across all metrics (customer service, in-stocks, shrink, margin, labor staffing, store expenses etc.)Provide input into strategic decisions for real estate including new locations, relocations, etc. Also provide feedback to real estate team to ensure landlords are meeting lease obligations. Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Implement policies and procedures that increase operational effectiveness and maximize long term store performance. Improve business processes through analysis and collaboration with Petsense and Tractor Supply TeamsMake decisions on field supervisory team/organization and the handling of customer complaints and issues. Required QualificationsExperience: 7 plus years’ related work experience. Extensive retail experience in operations, merchandising, and personnel development required.Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.Preferred Knowledge, Skills Or AbilitiesSubstantial experience in a multi-unit retail environment preferred. Demonstrated record of achieving financial performance objectives and overcoming operational challenges in a competitive and customer centric work environmentProficient in Microsoft Windows and Office productsAbility to communicate successfully across all levels of the organizationStrong problem solving, communication, organizational and time management skillsAbility to manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completion.
