Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, skills, location, and business requirements.Benefits: No employer-provided benefits for this contract position.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Process Engineer – Downstream to support front-end process design, downstream equipment ownership, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities at an onsite North Carolina facility. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and experience taking process designs through equipment implementation and startup.This role requires demonstrated experience serving as a Systems Owner or equivalent technical owner for downstream process equipment, with responsibility across the equipment lifecycle from design through startup and turnover.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and review front-end process designs for downstream manufacturing systems and translate process requirements into equipment and system specifications.Serve as a Systems Owner for downstream equipment, providing technical ownership throughout design, implementation, startup, commissioning, and turnover.Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, Quality, Maintenance, Project Management, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical and operational issues.Review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, layouts, and related engineering documentation.Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and project teams to ensure equipment and systems meet defined process and engineering requirements.Participate in design reviews, factory/site acceptance activities, system walkdowns, punch-list resolution, and turnover documentation.Provide technical support during equipment startup and transition systems to site operations and maintenance teams.Ensure engineering activities and documentation are performed in accordance with applicable site procedures, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BSChE), Mechanical Engineering (BSME), or a closely related engineering discipline.Demonstrated experience with front-end process design for process/manufacturing systems; experience should be focused on process and equipment design rather than product design.Experience serving as a Systems Owner, equipment owner, or equivalent technical owner for downstream process equipment.Experience taking process or equipment systems from design through installation, startup, commissioning, and turnover.Ability to interpret and work with engineering documentation such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and related design documents.Strong troubleshooting, technical communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Work RequirementsThis is an onsite position in North Carolina.Ability to work onsite during the required work schedule and support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and turnover activities.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering, operations, quality, validation, maintenance, and project teams.Work may require occasional schedule flexibility to support startup, commissioning, or other project activities.Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable hiring and onboarding requirements.Equal Opportunity EmployerIntellectt Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
