Established in 1989, Children’s Law Center, Inc. (CLC) is a non-profit legal service center protecting the rights of children and youth. CLC provides individual legal representation, policy advocacy, community education, and other services in Ohio and Kentucky. We invite you to join our passionate, caring, and knowledgeable team. Position Description: CLC is seeking an attorney to help young people overcome barriers to housing, education, and employment. The attorney will work extensively with community partners in the Greater Cincinnati area, such as Lighthouse Youth Services (LYS), through the KEYS to a Future Without Youth Homelessness Program. The position most often supports youth aged 16-25. As CLC expands its partnerships in this space, the attorney will have the opportunity to help shape the direction of this work. Responsibilities: Provide direct legal representation and consultation for youth who face barriers to accessing stable housing, gainful employment, safety, or education. Represent youth in court, administrative proceedings, negotiations with landlords, and other forums as needed. Areas of service include eviction-related advocacy, record sealing/expungement, education law, and more.Coordinate CLC's legal services for transition-aged youth, including: managing workflows for legal assistance; maintaining regular office hours at LYS’s Sheakley Center for client intake and staff consultation; and conducting other community outreach (e.g., legal clinics, presentations, resource fairs).Manage collaborations with community partners to strengthen continuums of service to teenagers and young adults, serving as CLC’s primary point of contact with multiple partner organizations. Develop and deliver community education programming for youth, staff at youth-serving organizations, legal professionals, and other stakeholders about legal rights and resources.Identify and pursue opportunities for systemic impact and/or policy advocacy.Cultivate and leverage relationships across legal and social-service systems—including with attorneys, housing- and workforce-related programs, school administrators, courts, law enforcement, policymakers, and nonprofit leaders—to advance individual client outcomes and broader systemic change.Use creative, persistent, and trauma-informed approaches to communicate and maintain engagement with youth clients who face instability and competing crises.Support data collection, case management, and internal and external reporting to track program outcomes and meet grant requirements.Required: J.D.; Ohio bar admission or ability to waive in; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask effectively; ability to thrive in different legal environments; cultural competency; desire to work with community partners and expand CLC’s existing projects.Preferred: Experience working with different community partners and stakeholders; Kentucky bar admission (in addition to Ohio); 2+ years of legal experience; demonstrated history of public interest practice.Compensation: The salary range for this position is $67,000-$78,000. CLC additionally offers health, dental, and vision insurance; long-term disability, short-term disability, and life insurance; generous PTO; and paid holidays.
