Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Keystone Heights, FL

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. A dynamic opportunity is available for an Onsite Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students within a K-12 setting in the Palatka, FL area. This role requires a dedicated professional with an active Florida TVI Educator Certificate to provide specialized services primarily at the Children's Reading Center Charter School, with some travel required. The position is contract-based, extending through May 29th, 2026, with flexible hours ranging from 14 to 25 each week spread over 2 to 3 days, adjusted based on weekly evaluation needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction and support to a caseload of nine students spanning grades 3 through 10. Collaborate with educational staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on visual impairment. Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Provide training and support to classroom teachers regarding visual impairment accommodations and accessibility. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student services and communications. Qualifications and Experience: Active Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired Educator Certificate. Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting, preferably K-12. Ability to travel between sites as needed, with most services delivered onsite. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with assistive technology and methods for visually impaired learners is a plus.
