Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer will carry out engineering assignments concerned with the planning, design and testing of mechanical equipment, systems, and processes. Works cooperatively with other departments and supports higher level engineers for medium level complexity projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Designs mechanical equipment, systems, and processes for environmental control systems. Performs calculations and analyses to ensure suitability of design. Solves problems related to the assembly, repair, and test of environmental control systems. Under general supervision, performs assignments which involve responsibility for a secondary project or a part of a major project. May give directions and/or guidance to junior level engineers, designers, and drafters. Works with colleagues in the department and in other departments. Writes reports as required and presents designs to peers, other engineers, and customers. Works under supervision, performs assignments of medium complexity and may assist senior engineers with more complex assignments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (B.S.M.E) from a four‑year college or university. Two to five years of experience with design, analysis, and development of industrial equipment. SolidWorks for CAD and PDMVault proficiency. Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design. Knowledge of drawing and drafting standards is a plus. Capability to carry out assignments concerning mechanical equipment. Understanding of military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications is desired. Hands‑on test and hardware experience is required. Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to conduct effective oral presentations to customers. Must be a U.S. citizen.
