The role demands strong backend expertise with Java 17 and Spring Boot, solid database skills across Oracle, MongoDB, and Redis, and the ability to own services end-to-end from design through production observability. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement microservices with well-defined API contracts and clear service boundaries Build and optimize RESTful APIs consumed by internal teams and external partners Write performant SQL against Oracle DB and design document models in MongoDB Implement caching strategies using Redis to support low-latency, high-throughput reads Ensure production reliability through resilience patterns, structured logging, and distributed tracing Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies Maintain 95%+ meaningful test coverage with unit and integration tests Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes deployments Required Qualifications: Java 17 — streams, lambdas, records, sealed classes, concurrency APIs, SOLID, thread safety Spring Boot — DI, bean lifecycle, profiles, actuator, Spring MVC, WebClient, Spring Cloud, Spring Security Microservices — service boundaries, resilience patterns, feature toggles, API versioning, sagas, observability Oracle DB — complex SQL, JOINs, window functions, execution plans, indexing, partitioning, batch queries MongoDB — document modeling, aggregation pipelines, indexing, sharding, replica sets, change streams, transactions Redis — data structures, clustering, cache strategies (cache-aside, write-through, TTL), invalidation, hot-key mitigation Data Structures — hash maps, trees, heaps, graphs, complexity analysis, Java Streams on large collections API Design — RESTful semantics, OpenAPI/Swagger, versioning, idempotency, Jackson serialization Testing — JUnit 5, Mockito, integration tests (DB + cache), SonarQube 95%+ coverage, contract testing DevOps — Git workflows, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes (HPA, probes), structured logging, distributed tracing Engineering — Agile/Scrum, root-cause analysis, design trade-offs, Jira Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Have): UI — Node.js, Express, JWT, Angular 11, TypeScript, RxJS, ag-Grid, Bootstrap, Chart.js Kafka — producers, consumers, partitioning, offset management, event-driven patterns Cloud & Infra — Kubernetes-native, Istio, Harness CD, container registries Additional — Lombok, MapStruct, 12-factor app, vault-based secrets, GraphQL The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $30.05/hour - $46.95/hour.
